Top Ten Lessons From The Golden Girls

Once in a while, a show comes along that is timeless. Watching Golden Girls now-not only are the jokes more funny and make more sense-I am amazed at how ahead of the times they were. Remember, this show was filmed during the 80s-the era of Reagan and Bush.

Here is my list of the top ten lessons I have learned from my favorite girls. Please add yours!

10. We may not figure out the solution to a problem right away, but cheesecake always helps.
9.   Shoulder pads didn't look good on anyone
8.   Good friends do not have to have the same beliefs, ideas or fashion
7.   Men are no wiser at 60 than at 30
6.   Friends will stick around much longer than any man will (see #7)
5.   We all have an ex like Stan that we just can't seem to get rid of
4.   Older people have sex. And talk about it.  A lot
3.   People should be free to love and marry anyone they want (Blanche's brother married his bf)
2.   People want to love and be loved at any age
1.   Friends can be closer than even family; cherish the friends you're lucky to call your own. You never know when you'll be stuck on a desert island and need Rose to help you find your way to the Hyatt on the good part of the island.
